For the longest time, matchmakers have primarily services the wealthy but a string of low-cost and budget franchises have sprung up creating endless options in the area. It's gotten so busy that VC money has entered the space and if you do a search for matchmakers in the San Francisco Bay area, you can easily see there are several dozen options.

Matchmaking services in the San Francisco Bay Area can range from $2,000 to $2,000,000 or more depending on urgency, deal-breakers, pain in the ass factors services may include and more. Most people focus on their own preferences and wants but almost always ignore what their target demographics' options are. 

Just because you have money doesn't mean you have desirable personality. Just because you want someone your age doesn't mean that person wants the same. Just because you are sought after in your career doesn't mean you are desirable in the dating world.

Most people think matchmakers are all the same - they are not. It's hard to distinguish them from each thanks to lack of indpendent reviews, business listings and unbiased testimonies. If you look carefully, some reviews are written by owners spouses, friends, business service providers (wardrobe, hair, makeup, photographers) and more.

There is also a sunk cost fallacy at play - more money doesn't mean faster results, better dates or guaranteed outcomes.
